SELEUCIS and PIERIA, Antioch. temp. Mark Antony. AR Tetradrachm (26mm, 14.85 g, 12h). In the name and types of the Seleucid king Philip I Philadelphus. Dated year 8 of the Caesarean Era (42/1 BC). Diademed head of Philip I right within fillet border / Zeus Nicephorus seated left; monogram to inner left and below throne, H (date) and thunderbolt in exergue; all within wreath. Prieur 8; McAlee 8 (this coin illustrated); RPC I 4131; SC 2491.5; HGC 9, 1360e. VF, toned, minor porosity. Rare, three examples known to Prieur, and three to the authors of RPC.
